The Project Approval Process
Our project approval process:
The Administration of The Shirt Design Factory hand approves and quality checks all projects before releasing them to the Job Board. Within 24 hours of posting your project, we will either approve it or not approve it.
Projects we will not post to the Job Board and do not foresee adding in the future:
Projects we are considering including on the site in the future:
The Administration of The Shirt Design Factory hand approves and quality checks all projects before releasing them to the Job Board. Within 24 hours of posting your project, we will either approve it or not approve it.
- If we cannot approve your project, we will notify you by email and try to give you a reason why it wasn’t approved. You can then change your project to comply with our standards by modifying it and resubmit it for approval.
- If your project was approved, it will show up in the Job Board and we will notify you by email of its approval.
Projects we will not post to the Job Board and do not foresee adding in the future:
- Projects requesting free mockups from designers.
Buyers must use the designer’s portfolio samples to determine their style and level of expertise. If the designer chooses to provide a free mockup, that is up to them. - Full-time/Part-time employee required.
We currently do not post positions for full-time or part-time employees. The Shirt Design Factory only offers its project posting service for freelance and contract positions. - Joint ventures or partnerships where profits are shared based upon success.
Buyers must offer a rate per hour or a total estimated payment (or a rate per hour/estimated payment plus partnership opportunity) to a designer once work is completed. - Projects that include bartering or trading.
Buyers must offer a rate per hour or total estimated payment (or a rate per hour/estimated payment plus bartering opportunity) to a professional once work is completed. - School projects or homework assignments.
We will never post projects that are school related, regardless of the amount of money you are offering. - Projects that require professionals to supply an upfront investment.
We will never post projects that require designers to pay money prior to receiving work. - Sales Pitches, Event Announcements, or Job Fair Listings.
We will never post sales pitches, announcements, or job fair listings. We only post requests from buyers who are seeking designers to work on their projects. - Projects that are illegal or questionable.
We will never post projects that are illegal, questionable, or violate copyrights. - Projects with unreasonable expectations or a poor chance of success.
We do not post projects that have little chance for success in our marketplace or projects that contain unreasonable expectations from our designers. Remember that our designers are people too. Don’t expect to get the Sistine Chapel to be reproduced as a t-shirt design for $10 or for 50 shirt designs to be done tomorrow.
Projects we are considering including on the site in the future:
- Commission-based projects
Right now buyers must offer a reasonable project budget, hourly rate, or a low hourly rate plus commission to post their projects on the Job Board. In the future, we may create a section for jobs that are purely commission-based, but at this time, all projects of this type will not be approved. - Contests
Buyers may not request a free contest entry from designers. In the future, we will be adding a section to the Break Room to post information on contests, but at this time all contest-based projects will not be approved. - Royalty-based projects.
Right now buyers must offer a rate per hour or a total estimated payment for services performed. You may offer an hourly base rate plus royalty or bonus opportunities, but currently payment to designers cannot be dependent upon the success (or failure) of a business transaction. In the future, we may add a section for royalty-based projects if the design community requests it.
